Earn graduate-level semester credit with Instructional Coaching Group and University of the Pacific-Benerd College. 

Instructional Coaching Group is dedicated in providing a rigorous and robust professional development experience that deserves recognition at a graduate level. That is exactly why we are prepared to help you earn credit quickly and easily, all at an affordable cost of only $62 per semester credit. Enrollment is available year round and participants may register for university credit after completion of a professional development workshop, institute, conference or training with Instructional Coaching Group.

Coursework Requirements

Every fifteen hours of professional development participation listed on a certificate of completion for a course training that you complete with Instructional Coaching Group will qualify to be converted to 1 graduate-level credit with University of the Pacific—no additional coursework required. For certificates that are short of the fifteen hours required per credit, an additional time log assignment will be required for you to earn university credit after completion of the registration process. The specific requirements for your time log are based on how many credits you decide to register for your course. Each credit registered will require 15 hours of ICG-based participation documented on your time log. Additional course expectations are emailed to you upon registration.

 

Time Log Overview

Upon successful completion of your experience with Instructional Coaching Group, invest time reflecting on your learnings, research and relevant readings. Your time log requirements will consist of developing a time log that documents the time and hours that you invest into enhancing your professional development.

 

Suggested Instructional Coaching Group (ICG) activities and projects to include in your time log:

Time spent reviewing additional resources from the ICG Resource page, including the Resource Library, Videos, Podcasts, Books, and Presentations; developing and/or modifying for your classroom activities/projects inspired by ICG learnings and resources; and time invested in professional development experiences with ICG. 

 

Other eligible activities include development or revision of classroom curriculum to include ICG learnings: rubrics, lesson plans, educational games, learning activities, PowerPoint presentations, video presentations, worksheets, educational websites, classroom visuals, classroom assignments and projects, learning centers, anchor charts, assessments, teacher-created books, physical education activities, self-evaluation/reflection reports, technology-related activities, storytelling activities, units of study, incorporation of Common Core Standards into ICG activities, mindfulness strategies, etc. 

 

Whether you spend time brainstorming, researching, reading, typing, writing, watching educational videos and films for ideas, constructing visuals, or putting together new curriculum and rubrics, you are able to document all the professional time you have invested in applying ICG learnings and concepts into your classroom and teaching. 

 

Specifically designed for busy teachers like you, you will get up to 6 months to submit coursework requirements, and extensions are always granted upon request. Opportunities are available across all teaching grade levels, disciplines, and subjects or topics. The overall course objective is aimed at implementing the best practices of education while meeting educational standards set by your school district or state.   

Grades & Transcripts

Professional development courses are letter graded and will appear on an official transcript from University of the Pacific-Benerd College. An official transcript with your final course grade(s) is available from UOP upon successful completion of course requirements. The course ending date that will appear on your transcript will reflect the date your completed course was reviewed and graded. 

About the Credits & Pacific

Graduate-level professional development credit is not part of a degree program at University of the Pacific but can be transferred at the discretion of your institution for salary advancement and state licensing requirements. 

 

The credits offered are post-baccalaureate, graded, graduate-level semester units of credit, provided directly through the University of the Pacific-Benerd College. They are specifically designed to meet the needs of educators for salary advancement and re-certification.  The credits are acceptable where local districts approve and applicable to state licensing where authorized. We always encourage that you check with your employer for acceptability of these credits. Course participants are responsible to determine acceptability of these credits for their intended use. Each graduate-level semester credit/unit is equivalent to 15 hours of academic involvement.

Course Requirements

Course requirements vary depending on how many credits you decide to register for your course(s). 

The Instructional Coaching Institute: 16-Week Institute (1-4 credits)

Course participants must complete the 16-Week Institute and submit a certificate of completion (provided by ICG at the time of completion) in order to earn between 1-3 credits. No additional work will be required other than to submit your certificate. Any participant who selects to register for a total of 4 credits will be required to complete an additional assignment consisting of a time log. Additional course information and instructions will be emailed to you upon registering.

Instructional Coaching: An Introduction: (8-Week Workshop [1-3 credits])

Course participants must complete the 8-Week Workshop and submit a certificate of completion (provided by ICG at the time of completion) in order to earn 1 credit. No additional work will be required other than to submit your certificate. Any participant who selects to register for a total of 2-3 credits will be required to complete an additional assignment consisting of a time log.
