University of the Pacific is pleased to offer the opportunity to earn graduate-level semester (non-degree) credit upon completion of your National Board Components, National Board Certification, or Pearson Assessor Training. Dedicated in assisting educators and teachers across the nation, our professional development course options are designed to be practical, meaningful, and affordable. Graduate-level credit opportunities are available to all current (ongoing) and previous participants upon completion of their National Board Certification and related Components and training.

Participating in a professional development opportunity with University of the Pacific will provide you with a convenient and cost-effective way of earning credit within a timeframe that works best for your schedule.

Proof of Completion

National Board Certification (1-6 credits)

  •  Proof of National Board Certification.

NBPTS Maintenance of Certification (1-3 credits)

  • Proof of National Board Certification MOC

NBPTS Assessor Activities (1-6 credits)

  • Proof of Pearson National Board Assessor certification.
  • Time log demonstrating implementation and assessment of activities.

Component 2 – Differentiation in Instruction (1-3 credits)

  • Submission of proof of completion of Component 2. 

Component 3 – Teaching Practice and Learning Environment (1-3 credits)

  • Submission of proof of completion of Component 3. 

Component 4 – Teaching Practice and Learning Environment (1-3 credits)

  • Submission of proof of completion of Component 4. 
About the Credits & Pacific

The credits offered are post-baccalaureate, graded, graduate-level semester (non-degree) credits provided directly through the University of the Pacific – Benerd College. They are specifically designed to meet the needs of educators for salary advancement and recertification. The credits are acceptable where local districts approve and applicable to state licensing where authorized. We always encourage you to check with your employer for the acceptability of these credits. Course participants are responsible for determining the acceptability of these credits for their intended use. Each graduate-level semester credit/unit is equivalent to 15 hours of academic involvement.

The University of the Pacific, established in 1851, is California’s oldest privately chartered university, and it is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Grades & Transcripts

Completed courses are graded under the Pass/No Credit grading system. An official transcript is available upon successful completion of course requirements. The course ending date that will appear on your transcript will reflect the date your information was reviewed and approved.

How It Works:

Successful completion of your NBC component or program is a prerequisite to registering for graduate-level credit with University of the Pacific - Benerd College.

Be prepared to upload your NBPTS Score Report (Component 2, 3, or 4), NB Achievement Certificate, Maintenance Award Letter, or Pearson Assessor Certificate during registration. Allow 1-2 weeks for your program completion to be verified and processed at University of the Pacific - Benerd College.

Earn Graduate-Level Credit on an Official Transcript from University of the Pacific - Benerd College.
After your documentation has been reviewed and approved, your course grade(s) will be submitted for posting at University of the Pacific - Benerd College. You may proceed to order an e-transcript after your course grades are posted at UOP.

Your official score report and transcript can be accessed via your National Board account. It will provide your component scores for each assessment cycle.

UOP’s continuing education course credits / units are acceptable where local districts approve and are applicable to state licensing or salary advancement where authorized. All students are responsible for determining the acceptability of these credits for their intended use.
