Earn graduate-level semester credit with Vallejo City Unified School District and University of the Pacific – Benerd College. Vallejo City USD is dedicated in providing a rigorous and robust induction experience that deserves recognition at a graduate level. That’s exactly why we are prepared to help you earn credit quickly and easily, all at an affordable cost of only $50 per semester credit. This unique opportunity is open to all current participants, as well as those who completed the program during the 2020-2021 academic year and beyond.
Induction candidates and mentors must submit proof of their completed Induction Program in order to earn credit with University of the Pacific, Benerd College.
Vallejo City USD Staff will verify your induction completion on your Induction program upon your registration. No further documentation is required after registering for your courses. If for any reason there is an issue with your course registration(s), our team will reach out to provide you with an update and assistance.
Candidates seeking credit must provide the respective documentation:
- Teacher Candidates: Certificate of Completion
- Early Completion Candidates: Certificate of Completion

How many credits can you earn?
Induction Candidates: Year 1 (6 credits)

The credits offered are post-baccalaureate, graded, graduate-level semester units of credit, provided directly through University of the Pacific, Benerd College. They are specifically designed to meet the needs of educators for Salary Advancement and Recertification. The credits are acceptable where local districts approve and applicable to state licensing where authorized. We always encourage that you check with your employer for acceptability of these credits. Course participants are responsible to determine acceptability of these credits for their intended use. Each graduate-level semester credit is equivalent to 15 hours of academic involvement.
University of the Pacific, established in 1851, is California’s oldest private chartered university and is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
Completed courses are letter graded and will appear on an official transcript from University of the Pacific/Benerd College. An Official Transcript with your final course grade(s) is available from Pacific upon successful completion of coursework. The course ending date that will appear on your transcript will reflect the date on which your completed coursework was reviewed and graded.

Please allow 1-2 weeks for your documentation to be processed. If you are a current participating teacher, VCUSD Teacher Induction will be able to verify your program completion once you have successfully completed all program components.
*If you are a past participant teacher, please contact Teacher Induction to verify your program completion sooner. Retroactive enrollment for university credit is only available for teachers who have completed their Vallejo City USD Induction Program after 2021.
Earn Graduate-Level Credit on an Official Transcript from University of the Pacific, Benerd College.
After your documentation has been reviewed and approved, your course grades will be submitted to be posted at University of the Pacific, Benerd College. You may proceed to order an e-transcript after your course grades are posted at UOP.

It's simple...
IMPORTANT: Vallejo City USD participants may register to earn graduate-level credit with UOP upon completion of their Induction program requirements. However, please note that if you have already applied your earned “VCUSD In-House Credits” towards a salary increase then “Graduate-Level Credit from UOP” cannot be used towards the same purpose as Vallejo City USD. The university credit you receive from University of the Pacific may be applicable towards salary increments at different school districts or in substitution of your “VCUSD In-House Credits.”
