Course Description

This course is designed for educators who seek to enhance their lessons and teaching strategies with innovative ideas inspired by professional development training. In Developing New Ideas in Education, you will transform new ideas gained from your professional development experiences into specific activities that support and promote student learning. You can choose from any ideas or strategies you learned in professional development sessions you have attended–whatever resonates the most with you. The method you choose to best convey the information will drive the project format. Once you have completed/applied the project, you will complete a reflection paper detailing why you chose this particular idea and how it fits into your professional development needs or those of your learners to submit, along with your time log and proof of your completed assignment, for evaluation and credit.

Coursework Requirements

Upon successful completion of your Echoes & Reflections online course/workshop, invest time reflecting on your learnings, research and relevant readings. As a student, your practicum requirements will consist of completing a reflection paper to demonstrate the implementation of strategies learned. The specific requirements concerning your reflection paper and time log are based on how many credits you take per course.
