Course Description

Designed for the educator who wants to enliven their curriculum and increase student learning with new projects, this course provides the opportunity to earn graduate-level professional development credit for adding project resources to their arsenal of teaching tools! Building on ideas garnered or conceived from professional development workshops, conferences, webinars, or training, you can work at your own pace to develop new projects for your classroom: an activity or lesson, a PowerPoint, guidelines for a project-based learning activity, a new student activity center…whatever type of project fits your needs. The objective of this course is for you to develop projects and activities that will actively engage your students in the learning process. Once you have implemented your newly developed project in your classroom, reflect over what you and your students have learned through the activity in a written reflection to submit, along with proof of project completion and your time log, for evaluation.

Coursework Requirements

Upon successful completion of your Echoes & Reflections online course/workshop, invest time reflecting on your learnings, research and relevant readings. As a student, your practicum requirements will consist of completing a reflection paper to demonstrate the implementation of strategies learned. An additional expectation is to complete a time log that documents the time spent for completing your coursework requirements. The specific requirements concerning your reflection paper and time log are based on how many credits you take per course.

Specifically designed for busy teachers like you, you will get up to 6 months to submit coursework requirements, and extensions are always granted upon request. Opportunities are available across all teaching grade levels, disciplines, and subjects or topics. The overall course objective is aimed at implementing the best practices of education while meeting educational standards set by your school district or state.
