University of the Pacific is pleased to offer the opportunity to earn graduate-level semester (non-degree) credit upon completion of course requirements with Bryce Hedstrom. Dedicated in assisting educators and teachers across the nation, our professional development course options are designed to be practical, meaningful, and affordable. At only $62 per semester credit, opportunities are available to all current (ongoing) and previous participants of credit-approved programs with Bryce Hedstrom.

Participating in a professional development opportunity with Bryce Hedstrom and University of the Pacific will provide you with a convenient and cost-effective way of earning credit within a timeframe that works best for your schedule.

Course Requirements

Bryce Hedstrom provides diverse professional development options, including workshops and personalized coaching. Each of these options offers distinctive experiences, expectations, and requirements for earning graduate-level credit through the University of the Pacific – Benerd College.

 

Workshops (1-3 credits) 

Upon successful completion of a credit-approved workshop with Bryce Hedstrom, you will be instructed to invest time reflecting on your learnings, research, and relevant readings. As a student, your course practicum requirements will consist of developing a time log that documents the time and hours that you invested into completing your course requirements with Bryce Hedstrom’s workshop and follow-up coursework. The specific requirements concerning your time log are based on how many credits you decide to register for your course. Each credit registered will require 15 hours of documented participation listed on your time log. Additional instructions and detailed requirements for your course will be emailed to you upon registration.

 

Please note that all hours invested in your selected workshop with Bryce Hedstrom can be applied towards meeting your time log requirements. Thus, your active participation in these workshops can contribute significantly to fulfilling the requisite hours for your course.

 

  • 1 credit = 15 hours
  • 2 credits = 30 hours
  • 3 credits = 45 hours 

Whether you spend time reviewing your workshop videos and materials, brainstorming, researching, reading, typing, writing, constructing visuals, or putting together new curriculum and rubrics, you are able to document all the professional time you have invested in applying learnings and concepts from your workshop experience into your classroom and teaching. 

 

Personalized Coaching (1-6 credits)

The one-on-one coaching course is based on individualized coursework assigned directly by Bryce Hedstrom. Credit is earned through active engagement in one-on-one coaching sessions and the completion of personalized curriculum goals and projects. A certificate of completion designating the number of hours spent in course participation is a prerequisite for registering and will be used to determine the number of credits earned for the course. 

 

  • 1 credit = 15 hours 
  • 2 credits = 30 hours 
  • 3 credits = 45 hours 
  • 4 credits = 60 hours 
  • 5 credits = 75 hours 
  • 6 credits = 90 hours 

Teacher Friendly Time Line

Specifically designed for busy teachers like you, you will get up to 6 months to submit coursework requirements, and extensions are always granted upon request. Opportunities are available across all teaching grade levels, disciplines, and subjects or topics. The overall course objective is aimed at implementing the best practices of education while meeting educational standards set by your school district or state.

About the Credits & Pacific

The credits offered are post-baccalaureate, graded, graduate-level (non-degree) semester units of credit provided directly through the University of the Pacific – Benerd College. They are primarily designed to be used towards salary advancement and recertification. The credits are acceptable where local districts approve and applicable to state licensing where authorized. We always encourage you to check with your employer for the acceptability of these credits. Course participants are responsible for determining the acceptability of these credits for their intended use. Each graduate-level semester credit/unit is equivalent to 15 hours of academic involvement. Graduate-level semester credit is not applicable towards a degree program at University of the Pacific – Benerd College.

The University of the Pacific, established in 1851, is California’s oldest privately chartered university, and it is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

Grades & Transcripts

Completed courses are letter graded. An official transcript is available upon successful completion of course requirements. The course ending date that will appear on your transcript will reflect the date your information was reviewed and approved.
