Course Description
PECE 9677: Social Emotional Learning in the Classroom is designed to provide educators with an opportunity to earn professional development credit for their own time spent cultivating an engaging and effective early childhood education curriculum with a focus on social-emotional learning. This course acknowledges the dedication educators invest in researching and creating instructional resources beyond their required job expectations to develop impactful early childhood education programs that cater to diverse classroom needs and demographics.
Earn one (1) unit of graduate-level semester credit for every 15 hours of relevant, self-directed work dedicated to enhancing social-emotional learning in your early childhood education curriculum. Whether you have existing projects or activities that have enriched your curriculum or innovative ideas to explore, you can easily earn PD credit for the time you have committed, above and beyond your regular classroom duties, to make your classroom a welcoming and inclusive environment. To earn credit, simply submit (1) a concise description of your course goals and objectives, (2) a self-created time log verifying your invested hours, and (3) selected proof of completed objectives.

The credits offered are post-baccalaureate, graded, graduate-level semester units of credit, provided directly through University of the Pacific, Benerd College.
