PEDU 9204: Educational Curriculum/Activities Enrichment Resources

$79$237

This course, designed for the educator who desires to enrich their curriculum with activities that have real-world significance, provides the opportunity to earn graduate-level credit while enriching their curriculum with resources obtained from their own travel experiences. Building on experiences and learnings gained from your travels, create enrichment activities that will serve as resources to add depth and breadth to your curriculum. Analyze your learning objectives, and determine how you can use your travel experiences to create activities that will help your students master the objectives. For example, have your students plan their own vacation: plan subway/bus routes for touring, make a budget for the trip, create a menu for a meal that might be served in their intended travel location, make a map of the geographical or economic features of their proposed country, convert the values of their country’s money to U.S. dollars…. You might have students draw or carve their own totem poles from soap and write an essay detailing the significance of each item they chose to place on it, or create a travel brochure for a country of their choice. Build guidelines, rubrics, and options for each of the activities you create. The activities you create are limited only by your imagination and inspiration from your own explorations. Once your students have completed the activities, you can submit your travel journal, slide presentation, and write-up to the University of the Pacific for evaluation.
