Course Description
This course is designed to provide educators like you the opportunity to earn professional development credit for the many hours of extra work you invest outside your professional workday to develop motivational strategies that will engage your students more fully and increase the effectiveness of your curriculum. Thinking outside the box–literally, outside the provided teacher’s manual and boxed curriculum–you daily devise better ways to present your given curriculum, create new curriculum, and identify fundamental components you can employ to motivate and engage your students more fully. Now you can earn professional development semester credit for work you have already done (or plan to do) outside of your paid professional workday: review the activities, projects, or presentations you have already made and used (or plan to develop and use) in your classroom to improve student engagement or make your curriculum more effective. Then earn up to 6 hours of graduate-level semester credit by simply submitting (1) a short description of the curriculum adjustments and/or innovations you have already created and implemented (or plan to create and implement), (2) proof of completed objectives, and (3) a timeline verifying the hours of work you have invested.
